Hello everyone, and welcome to Birth As We Know It™️, a Birth Story and Birth Experience podcast dedicated to recognizing the many different ways that birth unfolds. I am your host, Kiona Nessenbaum. I was inspired to create this podcast through my own experience in the birth space as a mother of three, a birth doula, a birth assistant, and a former student midwife.

My experience in these roles made me realize that birth is not talked about enough, which is something I find incredibly interesting, especially since practices and policies around birth seem to be changing all the time.

Now, this podcast isn’t like other birth story podcasts. On Birth As We Know It, you will hear me interview birthing people, partners, providers, birth workers, and more. I do this because I strongly believe that anyone that’s present in the birth space is impacted in some way. And I want you to know from the very beginning that we share stories that fall along all areas of the spectrum. That includes birth stories and experiences that could be considered good, bad, empowering, traumatic, ugly, or beautiful.

The bonus is this is a podcast, you guys. Which means you get to pick what stories you want to hear and when. And you can always pause, take a breath, and come back and listen whenever you’re ready. If this sounds like something you would be interested in hearing, follow or subscribe to the show so you can dive deep and get all the inside perspectives of Birth As We Know It.
