Birth Doula Services

That is exactly what I do through my Birth Doula Services. As your birth doula, my goal is to answer any questions you, your partner, or other chosen support persons may have about pregnancy, labor, and birth. I support both vaginal and cesarean births. I also support births in all birth settings including births at a hospital, at home, or at a birth center.

I have been supporting childbearing families since 2016 and have professionally experienced over 140 births in the roles of birth doula, birth/midwives assistant, and as a former out-of-hospital student midwife. As your birth doula, I will bring my experiences from all of these roles to help guide you as much as I possibly can to obtain the birth experience you are hoping for. With that said, I will also utilize my connections in the birth community to get you the answers to questions I may not have the answers to. I am not shy to point you in the right direction to someone who has more resources for you to utilize.

My overall goal as your Birth Doula is to ensure that you feel seen, heard, and validated in your birth choices, and to get you the resources and information you need to make an informed decision that best fits the needs of you and your family.

Please know that as your Birth Doula, I will support you in the way YOU want to be supported and I will never replace your partner or other chosen support persons. I will simply be joining the rest of your desired birth team.

  • 2 in-person prenatal visits:
    • The 1st visit will focus on getting to know you and your family better and getting a better understanding of how you envision your birth to be and what we will do as a team to work toward your goals.
    • The 2nd visit focuses on labor comfort measures and prepping for postpartum with some discussion about feeding choices, your support network, and what signs to watch for with postpartum mood disorders.
  • In-person support is provided for the duration of your labor and birth, with a minimum of 2 hours of support during the immediate postpartum period. During the first two hours of parenthood, I can help support you in learning how to feed your baby and ensure you are taken care of, fed, and settled before my departure.
  • 2 in-person postpartum visits* (2 hours each):
    • the 1st visit is usually within one week after the birth and includes checking in on how your body is feeling postpartum, how feeding is going, how your mood is, how your home setup is, etc. What we accomplish at this visit is all based on what you personally need at the time of the visit.
    • the 2nd visit is usually within 2 months after the birth and includes everything from the first visit and how to best prep for what your new “normal” will be like in your new family dynamic. What we accomplish during this visit is all based on what you personally need at the time of the visit.

* additional postpartum visits can be added on at a rate of $100 for a 2-hour visit with a $50 charge for every additional hour added to that same visit.
